A Thoughtful Approach to Access.

Ayavalla Preserve is first and foremost a working landscape - one that is cared for through regenerative practices and long-term stewardship.

Because of this, access to the land is intentionally limited.

Over time, we plan to offer opportunities to experience the preserve in a way that reflects its purpose - providing a deeper understanding of the land, the systems at work, and the principles guiding its care.

Any future access to Ayavalla Preserve will be guided by the same principles that shape our work on the land: respect, balance, and intention.

Rather than broad or high-volume visitation, opportunities to visit will be limited and designed to maintain the integrity of the landscape while offering meaningful insight into its stewardship.

Planned Future Experiences

The Lodge is a thoughtfully restored farmhouse offering a rare opportunity to stay immersed within the landscape of Ayavalla. Designed for quiet, meaningful connection to the rhythms of the land, The Lodge provides a peaceful retreat surrounded by centuries-old live oaks, rolling pasture hills, and sweeping sunrise and sunset views.

Featuring three bedrooms, two baths, and a spacious wraparound porch, the home invites slow mornings with coffee in hand and evenings spent taking in the beauty and stillness of the preserve. Though located just minutes from downtown Tallahassee, The Lodge feels worlds away — offering the sense of retreat and restoration often only found far beyond the city limits.

Ideal for short-term stays, intimate gatherings, or simply a slower pace of living, The Lodge blends comfort, history, and the natural beauty of the land into a uniquely memorable experience.

On-Site Stays

Guided access to the land offers an opportunity to experience Ayavalla Preserve beyond the gates — exploring the landscapes, wildlife, and regenerative practices that shape the property. Guests will have the opportunity to learn about soil health, water systems, land stewardship, and the important role livestock play in supporting a thriving ecosystem.

Tours are conducted by UTV and can be customized to match your interests. For bird enthusiasts, Ayavalla is home to remarkable bird rookeries where thousands of birds take flight in the evenings, creating one of the preserve’s most unforgettable sights. Interested in cattle operations? Visiting the herd up close is always a highlight — especially during calving season, when new life arrives daily across the pastures.

Wildlife is abundant throughout the preserve, and every tour offers a unique glimpse into the natural rhythms of the land. Along the way, guests may encounter deer, turkey, quail, birds of prey, alligators, snakes, and countless other native species. Whether you are passionate about conservation, curious about regenerative agriculture, or simply interested in seeing what lies beyond the gates, these experiences offer a rare and immersive connection to the landscape of Ayavalla.

Guided Access

Ayavalla Preserve plans to offer internship opportunities for individuals interested in gaining hands-on experience within a working agricultural and conservation landscape. Interns will have the opportunity to learn alongside the day-to-day operations of the preserve, developing a deeper understanding of the interconnected systems that support long-term land stewardship, cattle health, aquifer protection, and sustainable agribusiness practices.

Experiences may include exposure to regenerative land management, livestock operations, habitat conservation, water systems, infrastructure management, and the practical realities of operating a modern working preserve. Designed to provide meaningful, real-world insight, these internships are intended for individuals eager to engage directly with the land and the systems that sustain it.

Select internship opportunities may also include on-site housing accommodations for the duration of the program, allowing participants to fully immerse themselves in the rhythms and responsibilities of life at Ayavalla Preserve.
