Get To Know Ayavalla

  • Ayavalla Preserve is a 5,000-acre working landscape in Tallahassee, FL dedicated to soil regeneration, water stewardship, and long-term conservation.

Formerly known as Ayavalla Plantation, and later simply as Ayavalla, the property was thoughtfully rebranded as Ayavalla Preserve to better reflect its long-term vision. While the name has evolved, the commitment to the land remains the same: responsible stewardship, regenerative agriculture, conservation, and preserving the natural integrity of this landscape for generations to come.

  • Healthy soil drives everything above it. Through regenerative grazing, responsible land management, and conservation-focused practices, we aim to improve soil function, water retention, biodiversity, and the long-term productivity of the land.

  • Our approach recognizes that soil, water, livestock, and ecosystems are deeply interconnected. By managing these elements as part of one living system, we work to support healthier landscapes, stronger ecological function, and long-term resilience.

  • Ayavalla Preserve represents an evolving legacy of stewardship grounded in family history, agriculture, and a lasting connection to the land. Building upon generations of responsible management, the preserve embraces a forward-looking focus on regeneration, conservation, and ecological resilience.

  • Ayavalla Preserve is committed to thoughtful, conservation-focused stewardship designed to protect the beauty, function, and long-term resilience of the land.

  • At Ayavalla Preserve, livestock are integrated into a broader systems-based approach to regeneration. Through intentional rotational grazing, cattle help stimulate pasture growth, cycle nutrients back into the soil, and support the long-term health and resilience of the landscape. This work is carried out through a herd of approximately 700 Mashona cattle, a breed valued for its adaptability, fertility, efficiency, and resilience in challenging environments. These characteristics align closely with our commitment to responsible livestock management and the long-term stewardship of a healthy, productive working landscape.

  • As Ayavalla Preserve continues to evolve, our focus remains rooted in stewardship, regeneration, and thoughtful management of the land. While we have previously offered grass-fed beef, those offerings are currently paused as we prioritize the continued development of the preserve and its long-term vision.

In time, we hope to reintroduce thoughtfully produced beef offerings and create carefully curated opportunities to experience Ayavalla more directly through short-term stays, guided access, bird watching, educational events, and hands-on conversations around soil health and regenerative land management. As new opportunities emerge, we will continue exploring ways to share the land's story, support its stewardship, and further the mission of Ayavalla Preserve for generations to come.
